CBRE has completed a series of structural team changes aimed at unlocking its capital markets growth ambitions, particularly in investment banking, and debt and structured finance.
Chris Gow will continue to lead the firm's pan-European D&SF capability, with Nicolas Brandebourger and Robert-Jan Peters completing the central leadership team.
CBRE announced the arrival of Raj Somchand in September. He joins in March and will lead the pan-European IB team, with Pablo Callejo and Eoin Bastible completing the central leadership team. As part of this new structure, Callejo’s role expands to overseeing the Continental Europe IB capability.
CBRE has also hired Andrew Morris as an executive director to boost its IB specialism. Morris will also join in March and will report to Eoin Bastible. He brings 15 years’ experience from Jefferies where he was most recently Senior Vice-President in its real estate, gaming and lodging group.
Somchand and Gow will report into CBRE’s UK and Ireland advisory services chief exeuctive, Rishi Bhuchar, who will operate in an expanded remit, overseeing D&SF, IB, hotels and living, all on a pan-European basis.
In 2025, CBRE advised on more than 30 investment banking deals across Europe reflecting circa €8 billion of transacted value. These deals span many sectors including the recapitalisation of Nestar, the €1.7 billion leading rental housing platform in Spain and Cedar Capital Partners' recapitalisation of a European lifestyle hotel portfolio.
CBRE also acted as financial adviser to Stepstone on the equity recapitalisation of a 14.4% stake in Hines' retail business, Helios, and financial adviser to Highgate on the corporate sale of its UK Care Home platform.
Marco Hekman, chairman, advisory services, continental Europe and UK & Ireland, said in a statement: “We have established market leading offerings for many of our capital markets specialisms, and these changes further reflect our growth ambitions. Rishi joined us five months ago as an experienced leader in the investment banking industry, which we can now leverage to truly differentiate CBRE.”
