JLL has grown its retail leasing portfolio by 33% in Southern California in one step with the addition of two industry veterans who brought property assignments with them.
The brokerage said Bryan Cunningham and Brian Quinn just joined JLL's San Diego retail advisory team. Cunningham and Quinn, who have more than 50 years of commercial real estate experience between them, are bringing to JLL more than 5 million square feet of retail leasing assignments. With the new engagements, JLL now oversees leasing of 20 million square feet of retail properties across Southern California.
Cunningham and Quinn joined JLL as senior vice presidents.
“With the growth and evolution of retail, JLL sees a tremendous opportunity to expand its retail leasing practice on a local, regional and national level," Chris Wilson, JLL's national agency retail lead, said in a statement.
JLL's San Diego retail advisory group, led by Craig Killman, provides landlords with leasing and marketing of retail properties across the region.
Cunningham and Quinn joined JLL from San Diego-based brokerage Flocke & Avoyer Commercial Real Estate. Quinn worked at the firm for more three decades.
For Cunningham, a 20-year commercial real estate veteran, the move marks his return to JLL. He worked for the Chicago-based firm from September 2012 through February 2016, when he left for Flocke & Avoyer. He spent nearly seven years at the boutique brokerage before rejoining JLL.
While working at Flocke & Avoyer, Cunningham won a CoStar Power Broker award in the third quarter for a top lease in which he represented the landlord in a deal with Discount Tire in San Diego.
In the second quarter, Cunningham and Quinn, then at Flocke & Avoyer, won a Power Broker award for representing the landlord in a lease with AutoZone in Chula Vista, California.
During their careers, Cunningham and Quinn combined have completed transactions with an aggregate value more than $2 billion.
