With a low vacancy rate buttressed by strong demand and limited speculative construction through 2019, annual rent growth in San Diego continued its strong run last year, even if it cooled modestly year-over-year. While tech and life science submarkets still fuel rent growth in the region, the leaderboard shifted over the course of the year, with several suburban submarkets, and Downtown, entering the top of the market.
