HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—The Canadian hotel industry reported positive results in the three key performance metrics during the week of 23-29 April 2017, according to data from STR.
In comparison with the week of 24-30 April 2016, the industry reported the following:
- Occupancy: +7.5% to 69.2%
- Average daily rate (ADR): +5.9% to CAD143.97
- Revenue per available room (RevPAR): +13.8% to CAD99.61
Among the provinces, Prince Edward Island reported the largest spikes in occupancy (+44.0% to 62.5%) and RevPAR (+48.8% to CAD72.43). ADR in the province rose 3.3% to CAD115.94.
Manitoba was the only other province to see both occupancy (+22.3% to 80.0%) and RevPAR (+26.6% to CAD100.55) growth above 20.0%.
British Columbia posted the only double-digit rise in ADR (+10.5% to CAD158.77).
Saskatchewan reported the only decreases in the metrics with declines in ADR (-4.0% to CAD121.91) and RevPAR (-2.2% to CAD70.03).
