Ascena Retail Group, whose women's apparel Ann Taylor and Loft stores are staples in malls across the nation, is the latest retailer to fall victim to the coronavirus outbreak, filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and planning to shut more than 1,000 brick-and-mortar locations.
