A large-scale former paper mill in Kent has come to market for sale, CoStar News can reveal.
On behalf of the Joint administrators of AW Estates England, Alistair McAlinden and Blair Nimmo of Interpath Advisory, Carter Jonas has launched the 26-acre development opportunity in Chartham, close to Canterbury.
The site, a former papermill, has circa 250,000 square feet of buildings, including a terrace of 12 houses. Bids are being invited on a conditional or unconditional basis of planning over the next three months.
According to Kent Online the then-284-year-old business was suddenly closed last year with a number of jobs lost when French parent company Arjowiggens Group's UK operations were placed into administration.
Andy Smith, partner, commercial, Carter Jonas, described it as "a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial site in a sought-after location."
"It has excellent access, and its size and prominence within the village of Chartham make it ideal for several uses, and we expect strong interest from a host of investors and developers focused on unlocking its potential.”
