When Centennial President Whitney Livingston got the call Wednesday afternoon informing her the Dallas-based real estate firm's planned acquisition of Birmingham, Alabama-based Bayer Properties had closed, she couldn't help but order a celebratory espresso at a Starbucks in New York City, where she was in the middle of a meeting with now-colleague Jami Wadkins and another senior executive. Wadkins opted for a cold brew.
