Home improvement giant Home Depot plans to acquire HD Supply Holdings in a multibillion-dollar deal that would reunite the two Atlanta-area companies and give Home Depot a major foothold in the wholesale industrial supply business that provides maintenance and repair products to the multifamily and hospitality industries.
