On a percentage basis, Minneapolis' employment growth last year ranks 17th out of the nation's 54 largest metropolitan areas. Payroll gains were broad-based, with every sector registering increases in 2021 except for financial activities, which were down 6,000 jobs, and information, which was down 100 jobs.
