The Asian American Hotel Owners Association has extended its tradition of raising money to help local charities across the country. AAHOA's latest contribution was made in part to an organization in Atlanta that's known for supporting families traveling far from home to get medical treatment for their children.
"In 2022, AAHOA raised a total of $333,529 for 18 charities across the U.S!" AAHOA President and CEO Laura Lee Blake said in a recent LinkedIn post. "Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities is one of those charities, and yesterday, AAHOA had the pleasure of presenting them with their check."
Blake shared a picture of AAHOA delivering a replica check of more than $12,000 to the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House. "What a fantastic place!" Blake said. "They were gracious enough to provide a tour of the facility. We are currently working on #volunteer opportunities with the organization."
AAHOA, based just outside Atlanta, is the largest hotel owners association in the nation. Its 20,000 members own 60% of the hotels in the United States, according to the group.
Regional directors can make decisions on regional sponsorships and charities, AAHOA spokesperson Melissa Stern said in an email. "For other charities, it’s dependent on the amount the board votes."
