Cushman & Wakefield Names Head of Americas Equity, Debt

Cushman & Wakefield appointed Executive Vice Chairman Rob Rubano to serve as its head of the equity, debt and structured finance, or EDSF, division in the Americas. In his new role, Rubano will work with Cushman & Wakefield's executive leadership to contribute to the growth, scale and operational effectiveness of the EDSF division. Based in Los Angeles, Rubano reports to Dan Broderick, Cushman & Wakefield’s president of Americas advisory and Matt Chatham, the brokerage's West region president. During his nearly 20-year career, Rubano has closed transactions with an aggregate volume of more than $80 billion. In 2022, he completed over 60 financings across the United States with a total loan volume of more than $8.5 billion. Rubano said in a statement that "despite the current interest rate environment, there are still many opportunities in the EDSF sector near- and long-term."

Avison Young Appoints San Francisco Market Leader

Ross Robinson (Avison Young)

Avison Young appointed Ross Robinson, who has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, as San Francisco market leader. Robinson joined Avison Young in February 2021 after more than a decade at Cushman & Wakefield. In his new role at Avison Young, Robinson will be responsible for expanding the brokerage's business and spearheading its recruitment efforts in the market, the firm said. He also will continue to work with clients, Avison Young said.

During his career, Robinson has executed more than 5 million square feet of real estate leases and been involved in over $1.2 billion of sales transactions in the San Francisco market. His specialty is providing office agency leasing for institutional landlords. Avison Young U.S. President Harry Klaff said Robinson will play a key role in elevating the firm's presence in the San Francisco market.

Apartment Giant Cortland Taps New Leader of Design Efforts

Cortland, ranked No. 6 on the National Multifamily Housing Council's 2023 list of the 50 Largest Apartment Owners, tapped industry veteran Bill Davis to serve as executive vice president of design and architecture. In his new role, Davis leads the Atlanta-based multifamily firm's architecture, interior design, and design business teams.

Davis, who has more than 20 years of experience in design, project delivery, and operations, will work with groups across Cortland's organization to execute consistent design standards, the firm said. Before he joined Cortland, Davis held roles at several architecture and design firms in Atlanta including D. Stanley Dixon, THW Design, and Praxis3. He also was an owner-partner at DVA Architecture. Davis earned his bachelor's degree at Miami University in Ohio and Master of Architecture degree at Georgia Tech.

Suffolk Hires VP for Work at Dallas-Fort Worth International

Construction firm Suffolk hired building industry veteran Patricia Solorzano as a vice president and project executive on its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Suffolk said she will provide leadership to project teams, particularly supporting the firm's work at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport managing the Terminal C Renovation project and a zero carbon electric central utility plant. Solorzano spent the previous 17 years at Austin Commercial, where she managed projects in areas including aviation, commercial, mixed-use and hospitality. During her career, she has worked on expansions at Sacramento International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, San Diego International Airport and the American Airlines Trinity Complex in Fort Worth.

Matthews Adds Industrial Broker To Colorado Market

Matthews Real Estate Investment Services hired Spencer Mason as associate vice president. Based in Denver, Mason specializes in the acquisition and disposition of industrial properties across Colorado. Before he joined Nashville, Tennessee-based Matthews, he served as a senior associate at Marcus & Millichap. He also gained sales experience as a director of marketing at Honey Smoked Fish Co. Matthews Managing Director Matt Fitzgerald said the addition of Mason is part of the firm's plans to expand in the region. Fitzgerald also said he is actively recruiting local brokers who specialize in all property types.

Wolf Commercial Real Estate Expands in New York

Eric Grad (WCRE)

Wolf Commercial Real Estate, or WCRE, a brokerage, advisory and property management firm in Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia, expanded into the New York City market with the hiring of Eric Grad as managing director of the firm's New York office. As part of the move, WCRE also expanded its affiliation with Corfac International, the network of private commercial real estate firms, in New York, especially in the large Manhattan market and the surrounding boroughs. Grad, who has more than 18 years of commercial real estate experience, will be involved in recruitment and the development and growth of WCRE New York, the firm said. Before he joined WCRE, Grad served as a vice president at Colliers, where he worked with owners on investment sales, refinancing and lease referrals across the country. Prior to that, he served as an investment broker at Marcus & Millichap. He started his career as an investment banking analyst at BNP Paribas.

Colliers Valuation Expands Multifamily Business in Denver

Colliers, which last month expanded its industrial valuation and advisory services group with the addition of a Houston-based team led by Clint Bogart, has hired Kelly Hyde as a valuation services director to work in Denver and the Mountain West region. Hyde, with 11 years of appraisal experience, focuses on financial reporting, asset management, and lending and has a track record of providing appraisals for large firms such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Prior to joining Colliers, she served as senior director at JLL and a managing director at Apprise by Walker & Dunlop. Jeff Shouse, executive vice president over the Western U.S. for Colliers valuation and advisory services, said the addition of Hyde will strengthen Colliers' presence in the Mountain West markets.
