Recently, Google announced plans to purchase the 945,000-square-foot Thompson Center office building in Chicago’s Central Loop, while it also agreed to lease a chunk of office space in Detroit's historic Corktown neighborhood within the redevelopment of the Michigan Central Station train depot, now branded as the Michigan Central Innovation District. Both projects stand to bring thousands of area workers to the office portion of these renovations.
