Howard Hughes Corp., a developer of large master-planned communities, bought 37,000 acres in the fast-growing Phoenix suburb of Buckeye, Arizona, for a project that could include up to 100,000 homes and millions of square feet of commercial space in one of the largest development land deals on record.
