Time Warner Cable will get a new building in Charlotte, NC for its technical operations and customer call center. The new building will be at 3140 West Arrowood Road in the Whitehall Executive Center. Currently, Time Warner operates its call center, technical operations, customer service, ad sales operation, and telecom group out of 4 different Charlotte facilities. Once the new center is complete, Time Warner will vacate 3 of the 4 facilities now occupied and continue to occupy the 45,000-square-foot facility at 316 East Morehead St. which the company owns. It is estimated that between 375 and 400 people will move into the new building once it is complete in the early part of 2001. The new building will be an 80,000-square-foot facility that will be a build-to-suit leaseback transaction. According to Ken Chapman of Crosland Commercial, "Time Warner is also reserving land for an additional 20,000-square-foot building in anticipation of more expansion." Crosland Commercial is developing the facility, WGM Design Inc. is the project architect, and Shelco Inc. is the general contractor.
