Octopus Investments has launched a private debt offering, with an initial focus on asset-backed lending in real estate and infrastructure.

The group said the offering will provide "customised solutions that deliver on both returns and impact, particularly to the likes of insurers and pension funds".

The private debt offering will expand on Octopus's track record. Since 2013 it has lent over £4.3 billion into the asset class, which includes lending from its three previous commercial real estate debt funds. Octopus has become one of the largest established non-bank real estate lenders in the UK.
