CBRE Hires One Vice Chairman, Promotes Another

Global real estate brokerage CBRE has hired a life science industry veteran in New York City and promoted an industrial sector leader in Northern California. Both will fill vice chairman roles, the highest rank for producers within the firm's advisory and transaction team.

William Hartman has joined CBRE's advisory and transaction team in New York, where he focuses on life science landlord and tenant representation.

Also this week, CBRE announced the promotion of Tom Davis to vice chairman. He becomes the only individual in California's Central Valley region to earn the title and joins just three other industrial-sector advisory and transaction professionals at CBRE who have earned the title statewide.

Dallas-based CBRE is the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm based on 2021 revenue and employs more than 105,000 professionals in over 100 countries.

Hartman joins CBRE from Cushman & Wakefield, where he most recently served as executive managing director. Throughout his 33-year career, Hartman has been involved in more than 15 million square feet of leasing and sales transactions across the region. He shifted his focus in 2005 to the life science sector and since then has been involved in some of the sector's most prominent assignments in San Francisco, Houston, Boston and London.

"Adding an expert with Bill’s breadth and depth of expertise enhances CBRE’s ability to counsel life sciences clients across dozens of markets and multiple subsectors," said Matt Gardner, CBRE’s Americas life science practice leader, in a corporate statement announcing the move.

Davis currently leads CBRE's Central Valley industrial practice group in Stockton and supports the company's business across the region while working with occupiers and institutional investors to market, sell, reposition and develop industrial properties. Throughout his career, Davis has completed more than 105 million square feet in lease and sale transactions and over 8,200 acres of land deals valued in excess of $8.3 billion in gross consideration.

Before joining CBRE in 2016, Davis served as a president with Lee & Associates Central Valley.

Hartman earned an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business. Davis holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkley, and the SIOR designation from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
