Oklahoma's first PGA Tour Superstore is taking a swing at bringing golf-themed experimental retail to the Oklahoma City market after taking over a building once housing a culinary school.
In opening the PGA Tour Superstore last September, the retailer filled an otherwise vacant space once housing the Platt College School of Culinary Arts at 2727 E. Memorial Ave. in Oklahoma City. It also brought PGA-certified instructors and club fitters to the region. The store has two fitting bays, three practice and play bays, and a putting instruction bay and putting green, according to media reports.
The lease has been selected by a panel of local industry professionals as the winner of the 2024 CoStar Impact Award for lease of the year for Oklahoma City.
About the Property: PGA Tour Superstore signed a lease for more than 30,000 square feet on Memorial Avenue. This location is the retailer's first in Oklahoma and brings a wide range of golf equipment, apparel and accessories to this region.
What the Judges Said: This part of West Memorial Drive has struggled with tenants for more than five years, making it a difficult spot to fill, said Caitlin Mazaheri, a vice president at CBRE. "Filling a vacancy of this size with a new use that will have big demand in our market will hopefully drive other activity," she said, adding that this PGA Tour Superstore's lease helps show the growth of the Oklahoma City market.
They Made it Happen: Mark Inman and Stuart Graham of CBRE represented the landlord, Zerby Partners.
