In a city known for overusing the word "luxury," a Los Angeles apartment opened last year has some of the most high-end features in the market today.

The 54-unit Respara apartment development at 11600 Dunstan Way in Brentwood offers concierge services, pool and jacuzzi, a 70-foot interior courtyard and a glam room for residents going out to special occasions.

Developed and owned by Los Angeles-based Liebes Properties and the Hugh H. Evans III trust, the high-end apartment property won a CoStar Impact Award for multifamily development of the year in Los Angeles after being selected by a panel of local industry professionals.

Rents start at $6,600 per month, roughly three times L.A.'s average apartment cost, and go as high as nearly $22,000 per month, according to marketing materials and CoStar data.

Rooms range between 845 to 1,978 square feet and have open floor plans, white oak flooring, custom Italian cabinetry, walk-in closets, floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors leading to terraces, custom white oak Italian vanities with Italian quartz and Calacatta Trevi countertops.

The apartments also offer electric vehicle charging stations, a private cinema room and a full-service conference room. The property sits at the end of a cul-de-sac giving the apartments additional privacy.

About the project: The 54-unit luxury apartment complex called Respara opened in L.A.'s upscale Brentwood neighborhood in 2022. Respara Brentwood is the onsite property manager.

What the judges said: "This is a high-end large apartment complex with creative sustainable amenities," said Kitty Wallace, senior executive vice president of Colliers in Los Angeles. "Although not mentioned, they overcame neighborhood objections, rising costs, challenges to develop during COVID and other issues."

They made it happen: Project developer Chris Liebes of Los Angeles-based Liebes Properties and Hugh Evans III.
