BlackRock has signed home improvements retailer Wickes for a 39,000-square-foot store at phase two of the Stoford-developed Spa Park in Leamington Spa in the West Midlands.
Wickes is understood to have been seeking a store in Leamington Spa for more than 10 years, with location a number one UK target for the business. It drafted in specialist acquisition agent Stripe Street in 2023 to assist with key targets.
The 39,000-square-foot detached unit at the roadside entrance to Spa Park was subject to an amendment to the existing use to allow for DIY or builder's merchant use. There are 55 customer parking spaces to the front with one-acre yard at the back to create more parking and an outdoor project centre.
The transaction has exchanged and completes in the next few days.
Stripe Street said it continues to actively source new sites for Wickes of between 20,000 and 40,000 square feet in size.
Sarah Taitt, chief property and services officer at Wickes, said the deal was a great result for all involved and Wickes look forward to opening the store.
Wickes' agent Mark Pearse of Stripe Street confirmed it acted on the deal: "This has been a strategic target that remained unlocked for our client for over 10 years. It’s been a great result to secure it for Wickes."
