From an endowment fund to a socially responsible real estate company, Fratries has just taken the plunge. Created by Emmanuel de Carayon and Aurélien L'Hermitte, the social enterprise offers a unique coliving concept, where young working people with and without disabilities come together under the same roof. "Fratries was created in 2020 on the observation that 600 to 700,000 people suffer from mental disabilities and autistic disorders in France. Most young people are born and grow up in their families, surrounded by brothers and sisters without disabilities. Once they reach adulthood, there are virtually no places to live or work where they can live alongside non-disabled people," explains Emmanuel de Carayon, a former member of Café Joyeux.
