Oxford Capital acquires four in San Francisco
Oxford Capital Group acquired four downtown San Francisco independent hotels from Haiyi Hotels—Hotel Vertigo, Good Hotel, Americania Hotel and Carriage Inn—and the company’s management affiliate Oxford Hotels & Resorts took over the management. The company has plans to renovate and reposition the hotels, and terms of the sale were not disclosed. The hotels are located in the lower Nob Hill and South of Market neighborhoods.
Oxford’s lifestyle hotel portfolio includes Godfrey Hotels in Chicago, Boston, Tampa and Hollywood; LondonHouse Chicago; Hotel Julian Chicago and others.
Hotel Hendricks to open in NYC
Fortuna Realty Group is set to open Hotel Hendricks in Midtown Manhattan this spring. The hotel has 176 guestrooms over 27 stories, two rooftop bars, a full-service restaurant and a lobby café. Sietse Nabben is GM, and the hotel’s interiors were designed by Marcello Pozzi.
Fortuna Realty Group’s portfolio in the New York metropolitan area includes Hotel Hayden, The Garden City Hotel and Hotel Hugo. The company also has Hotel Henri by Wyndham in New York City, Mr. C in Los Angeles and Sugarbay Resort & Spa in St. Thomas, USVI.
Openings, management, people on the move
- The Hotel Zags Portland opened in Portland, Oregon. The 174-room hotel is owned by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust.
- Isla Bella Beach Resort opened 1 April on Knights Key in Marathon, Florida. The 199-room resort is owned by The Singh Company.
- Hotel Essex opened 1 April on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Owned by Oxford Capital Group and Quadrum Global, and managed by Oxford Hotels & Resorts, the hotel was renovated from its former identity as The Essex Inn.
- The Shoal La Jolla Beach reopened in mid April following a guestroom renovation. The hotel is owned and managed by Kamla Hotels.
- Benchmark named Frank Casarez Jr. GM for The Nautical Beachfront Resort in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
- Jesse Crockett was named GM of The Josie Hotel in Rossland, British Columbia.
