Sacramento Unemployment Rate Remains Low

Two of the Region’s Major Employment Drivers, Education and Health Services and Government Continue To Show Strength, Financial Services Only Sector That Lost Jobs

In addition to controlling inflation, one intended effect of the Federal Reserve’s raising interest rates is to cool the labor market. Inflation eased somewhat in February but remains stubbornly high, with the most recently released data from February indicating that the consumer price index rose by 6% year over year. Nevertheless, according to the most recently released data in January, the local employment market remains tight in Sacramento as employment grew by 3.2% during that time.
