JLL has hired a supply chain veteran to lead its client sourcing operations as the brokerage works to create a sustainable global procurement framework that would reduce carbon emissions and advocate for responsible practices for itself and its partners.
The firm said it has tapped Lawanda Savage-Henton, who has more than 25 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, as head of client sourcing and procurement in the Americas. In her new role, she leads all client account operations and drives the client sourcing and procurement operation for its work dynamics, project and development services and property management in the region, JLL said.
Savage-Henton replaced Lance Drenning, who has transitioned to a role managing services for one of JLL's largest clients, the brokerage said. Savage-Henton joined JLL from food service and facilities management company Sodexo, where she served as vice president for integrated facilities management sourcing and procurement. Before that, she worked for JLL rival CBRE, where she was a managing director of supply chain services.
Based in Chicago, Savage-Henton reports to Michael Raphael, who took over as JLL's chief procurement officer this year.
JLL hired the procurement and supply chain veteran as it works to achieve its goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2040. The brokerage's goal to reduce its emissions applies across its operations, including the client sites it manages across the globe and is part of its vision of taking a leadership position on climate action, it has said.
The brokerage provides sourcing and procurement services to more than 500 clients across 80 countries. The company said it "aims to create and maintain a global sustainable procurement framework that not only reduces carbon emissions but also promotes responsible sourcing practices" for itself and its clients.
“Sourcing and Procurement plays a critical role in driving sustainability and innovation,” Savage-Henton said in a statement.
Before working at Sodexo, she spent more than four years at CBRE. Prior to that, Savage-Henton served as a sourcing director at uniform company Cintas and drugstore giant Walgreens. She also worked for nearly a dozen years at PepsiCo, where she served as a global procurement manager and treasury manager.
Her experience and background position Savage-Henton "to steer our growth Americas platform," Raphael said in a statement.
