JLL Taps Boston Consulting Executive as Chief Financial Officer

JLL appointed Kelly Howe, North American chief financial officer, as CFO of its market advisory business that assists investor and occupier clients achieve their real estate objectives. Howe's appointment is effective Jan. 8. Greg Conley, who held the position of CFO for both markets advisory and capital markets, will focus on being CFO of capital markets effective Jan. 1. When she starts Howe, based in Chicago, will report to global CFO Karen Brennan and serve as strategic partner to Andy Poppink, CEO of the markets advisory group, to continue to position the business for long-term growth. “Kelly will work closely with our Markets Advisory leaders across the globe to provide partnership, insights and expertise," Brennan said in a statement.

Greystone Adds Capital One Executives in Southeast

Greystone has expanded in the Southeast with the addition of Charlie Mentzer and Brad Waite as senior managing directors. Mentzer and Waite, each with more than 20 years of industry experience, joined Greystone from Capital One, where they served as senior vice presidents. In their new roles as Greystone, the Atlanta-based pair will work across the lending platforms to originate financing for multifamily properties across the country, Greystone said. The firm said Mentzer and Waite also will work in close collaboration with Cushman & Wakefield. In late 2021, Cushman & Wakefield closed its deal to pay $500 million for a 40% stake in New York City-based Greystone's multifamily agency lending and servicing and Federal Housing Administration lines of business.

At Capital One, Mentzer was responsible for new loan origination in its Atlanta office, where he originated over $6 billion in transactions during his career. Before working at Capital One, he served as a vice president at Walker & Dunlop and in loan origination roles at Primary Capital and Column Guaranteed. Prior to Capital One, Waite served as a vice president at Walker & Dunlop, previously CW Capital. Rich Martinez, head of agency lending production at Greystone, said Mentzer and Waite will help expand the company's loan origination business and its joint venture with Cushman & Wakefield.

Newmark Adds Landlord Representatives in Denver

Newmark has added leasing pros Whitney Hake and Grace Lessard to its office landlord representation team in Denver as the brokerage works to expand in agency leasing. Hake joined Newmark as a senior managing director and Lessard as a senior associate. Newmark said in their new roles, Hake and Lessard will work closely with executive managing director Jamie Gard to expand Newmark's agency leasing business in Denver and that Hake and Lessard "will play pivotal roles in elevating Newmark’s landlord representation services."

Hake and Lessard joined Newmark from Transwestern, where Hake served as a senior vice president and Lessard as a senior associate. At Transwestern they focused on representing landlords in the Denver's Southeast and Downtown markets. A 13-year industry veteran, Hake also spent eight years at Cushman & Wakefield, where she ranked within the top 10% of the company’s brokers globally for production in 2016-2017, according to Newmark. "Market changes over the past three years have spurred innovative ideas for us as brokers and for landlords," Hake said in a statement.

Savills Beefs Up Dallas Office With Addition of Veteran Broker

Savills had added Harrison Burt, a 10-year industry veteran, to its Dallas-Fort Worth office as corporate managing director. Bur joined Savills from JLL, where he spent the past seven and a half years. In his new role Savills said he will specialize in providing real estate strategy for office occupiers. He will work closely with the tenant advisory team led Jihane Boury and Clay Vaughn, who recently joined Savills as vice chairmen, to grow the brokerage's presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. “Dallas Fort-Worth has become a sought-after business destination, attracting companies from across the nation to establish roots in the market,” Savills Texas Region President Mark O’Donnell said in a statement. “Now more than ever, occupiers are seeking expert advice from local professionals with a proven track record who understand the nuances of the market."

While at JLL, Burt served as a senior vice president and worked on complex real estate transactions for clients in multiple industries. Before JLL, he was an associate broker at Jackson Cooksey.

CBRE Hires Multifamily Investment Sales Pair in Northern Nevada

CBRE has hired multifamily investment sales broker Benjamin Galles as a senior vice president on its capital markets team in Reno, Nevada. He joined CBRE from Logic Commercial Real Estate. His wife, Katie Galles, made the move from Logic to CBRE with him. She is a senior associate and team manager at CBRE. Benjamin Galles, with more than 20 years of industry experience in the market, has a track record of selling multifamily properties across Northern Nevada. Before he worked at Logic, he served as a director at Cushman & Wakefield. Katie Galle has over 20 years of industry experience in brokerage and operations. CBRE said she will specialize in multifamily sales, market research and property marketing. Before working at Logic, she was an operations manager at Cushman & Wakefield. David Brennan, senior managing director of CBRE’s Reno office, said in a statement that Benjamin Galles has the experience and knowledge needed to expand its multifamily capital markets business locally.

Horrell Names New Head of Commercial Property Management

Horrell Co., an 80-year-old brokerage in Nashville, Tennessee, named Alexa Barnett as head of the firm's commercial property management group. Barnett is an industry veteran who has managed commercial properties in Nashville and across Middle Tennessee. She joined Horrell from Southern Land Co., where she served as a commercial property manager, overseeing 82,111 square feet of Class-A restaurant, retail, office and parking garage space at Vertis Green Hills. Before Southern Land, she worked at Baker Storey McDonald Properties in managing a portfolio of over 1 million square feet across Tennessee, Alabama and Ohio. In late summer, Elliott Smith, an attorney who's worked in corporate and real estate law, acquired Horrell and succeeded the late Steve Horrell as president.

Barnett is well known in Nashville commercial real estate circles as the owner and co-founder of CRE615, a networking, mentorship and educational organization that has a members including more than 1,600 of Nashville's industry professionals. "I look forward to growing our portfolio and property management services under Elliott's leadership," she said in a statement.

Colliers Adds Valuation Veteran From Newmark in South Florida

Colliers U.S. added Greg Becker to its valuation and advisory service group in West Palm Beach in South Florida. A veteran with more than 30 years of industry experience, Becker joined Colliers from Newmark, where he spent the past six years. Before Newmark, Becker worked for more than 14 years at CBRE. In his new role as an associate managing director at Colliers, he will on focus on leading the valuation group's growth in the industrial real estate market across the Southeast, with an emphasis on Florida, and in the Caribbean.

Jerry Gisclair, executive vice president of U.S. client relations and services, said in a statement that Becker's experience will allow him to "play a vital role in driving the growth of our industrial platform nationwide."
