Colliers bets on Las Vegas expansion
Juan E. Rose III joined Colliers as managing director and brokerage market leader in Las Vegas, to help the company expand its profile in the gaming and entertainment capital. Colliers said Rose will oversee all brokerage operations including recruitment, retention and business development in the region.
Rose joined Colliers from Fespina Rose Group, a firm he founded that specialized in commercial real estate investments, asset management and advisory services. He held prior leadership roles at CBRE and served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He reports at Colliers to David Josker, president of the firm’s West Region brokerage.
McCourt taps executive to pursue new development business
McCourt Partners appointed Patrick Rhodes as executive vice president of development. He is based in McCourt's Los Angeles headquarters. Rhodes joined McCourt from Brookfield Properties, where he served as senior vice president of development and oversaw western region projects totaling more than $5 billion in value. The projects contained 10,000 multifamily units and 2 million square feet of commercial space.
The 16-year industry veteran’s prior work also includes roles at CIM Group, where focused on developments in core urban markets, and Sora Development, where he served as vice president of development. Founded in 1977 by Frank H. McCourt Jr., family-owned McCourt Partners also has New York operations and has handled development, investment and management in projects nationwide.
Facilities manager ISS targets western growth
Industry veteran Emily Watkins has joined global facilities management company ISS North America as vice president of sales for its West Division. She is based in ISS' San Diego office. Watkins joined ISS after working previously at property-related firms such as JLL, Unispace and most recently, global flexible workplace company The Instant Group. At Instant Group, she served as chief client officer for the Americas, where she focused on new business development.
ISS said it wants to grow facility and food management services in the western U.S. and other North American regions. ISS is headquartered in Copenhagen and has several regional offices worldwide and has its U.S. base in San Antonio.
Ackerman broadens financing team in Atlanta

Ackerman & Co. hired Jonathan Rice as executive vice president of capital markets. The Atlanta-based investment firm plans to expand its financing services. Rice joined Ackerman & Co. from CBRE, where he spent more than 20 years with the firm's Atlanta finance team, most recently as a senior vice president. His work at Ackerman will focus on arranging debt and equity financing for third-party clients and the company’s in-house investments, in property categories that include hospitality, retail, mixed-use, industrial and office, Ackerman said.
Rice served earlier as a senior managing director at Insignia/ESG Capital Advisors before it merged into CBRE in 2003. He also worked as a director at HFF and as southeast regional director at Finova Realty. Throughout his career, he has arranged transactions totaling more than $10 billion.
Atlas looks to widen multifamily investment services
Multifamily investment and development firm Atlas Real Estate Partners named Nick Marcello chief financial officer. The company said Marcello, based at the firm’s New York City headquarters, will oversee financial functions tied to infrastructure and portfolio growth. The firm wants more support for an increasingly institutional investor base.
Marcello previously was chief financial officer at Sachem Capital Corp., a publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trust that specializes in small-balance lending to investors. He also worked as vice president at Waypoint Residential, where he managed financial reporting for the firm’s Sun Belt multifamily portfolio. Marcello began his career at consulting firm PwC in the investment management group, where he handled tax and audit compliance for private equity, hedge fund and real estate clients.
