Brett White, Chairman of the Americas of CB Richard Ellis, has announced the appointment of Steven A. Swerdlow to the position of executive managing director - eastern division. Swerdlow will replace Skip Beebe who has been promoted to executive managing director - organizational development. Beebe will stay at the firm's Atlanta office, and Swerdlow will remain at the New York office located at 560 Lexington Ave. Swerdlow's appointment will, in turn, transfer the Eastern Division headquarters from Atlanta to New York City. Brett White commented that, "...Steve's strong business background as an attorney and developer allows him to take a 'business person's perspective' to running his business. His ability to work directly with clients in the developmental process has been a hallmark of his leadership and an integral component in the growth of New York area operations." Excited about the opportunity, Swerdlow commented that "New York is the most important market on the East Coast and globally. I plan to leverage CB Richard Ellis's resources to further develop client relationships in New York City." Swerdlow also stated that CB Richard Ellis would develop significant business initiatives in 2001. Headquartered in Los Angeles, the company has 10,000 employees worldwide in 250 principal offices in 37 countries on 6 continents.
