Oregon’s population declined for the second consecutive year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s latest release for 2023. The state saw a percentage loss of 0.14% — or just over 6,000 people — on a year-over-year basis. This drop was less pronounced than the negative mark in 2022 of 0.40%. Oregon now has an estimated 4.23 million residents, down from the peak of 4.26 million in 2021.
