Helical, one of London's leading office developers, has signed to move its headquarters in the capital.
The listed developer, which has a new chief executive after Matthew Bonning-Snook took up the reins from Gerald Kaye, has signed for 3,300 square feet of offices on the top floor of Shaftesbury Capital's 22 Ganton Street, a six-floor office leading into Carnaby Street in Soho.
The space was occupied by Shaftesbury before its merger with Capco to create major London landlord Shaftesbury Capital.
Helical is moving from the circa 6,000 square feet it occupied at nearby 5 Hanover Square. It is understood to have chosen the space because it allows it to downsize as it focuses on a more collaborative working environment. It also has access to a roof terrace.
RX London advised Helical.
Matthew Bonning-Snook, Helical's then-property director, succeeded Gerald Kaye as chief executive at its annual general meeting in July.
The announcement was made in full-year results that also provided an update on a review of the business that has pivoted Helical towards an "equity-light" development model.
Kaye has remained as an external consultant having agreed to support on the delivery of the company’s next major office developments at 100 New Bridge Street, EC4 and Brettenham House, WC2.
Bonning-Snook joined the business in 1995 and the board in 2007, and has been responsible for delivering a number of projects. The next phase of Helical's programme is focused on three over-station development schemes in joint venture with TfL’s Places for London, at 10 King William Street, EC4, Southwark, SE1 and Paddington, W2, in addition to the two major office developments.
