Collections of Orange County’s Tourist Development Tax, or TDT, a 6% tax on short-term accommodations, have rebounded far quicker than anticipated after plummeting with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. New monthly highs have been set every month since February 2022 in the Central Florida county, lifting collections for the 12 months ending February 2023 to more than $365 million, which is $70 million above the pre-pandemic peak set in February 2020.
