Victor J. Coleman, one of Southern California’s most outspoken and influential commercial real estate executives, is set to receive a rare peer honor for his impact on the region’s property industry.
NAIOP SoCal will induct the chairman and CEO of Hudson Pacific Properties into its hall of fame at the organization’s annual awards gala May 14 in downtown Los Angeles. The trade group's event, in its fourth year, recognizes top performers and projects across Southern California’s commercial real estate sector.
The group will honor Coleman, a prominent figure in real estate and civic leadership, for his decades-long contributions to the industry and broader community, it said in a statement.
Coleman has been a board member at Los Angeles-based Hudson Pacific since the media- and tech-focused REIT went public in 2010; he founded and served as managing partner of Hudson Pacific's predecessor company, Hudson Capital. Hudson Pacific's portfolio includes 15 million square feet of West Coast office space across 47 properties and 2.4 million square feet of entertainment studio space across 75 soundstages.
Coleman is known for using his platform to advocate for California’s entertainment sector and for communities rebuilding after devastating wildfires across the Los Angeles area. In a February LinkedIn post, he urged major studios to “double down on productions in Los Angeles to get our impacted community members back to work and drive broader economic activity.”
The NAIOP SoCal event in May will also feature awards in more than a dozen categories, with finalists announced in areas such as broker of the year, multifamily project of the year and sustainable project of the year. A public vote will decide two categories: office project and principal/owner/developer of the year.
Coleman will join three other Southern California real estate executives in the hall of fame: Rexford Industrial Co-Chief Executive Officer and Director Howard Schwimmer; CBRE President of the Greater Los Angeles, Inland Empire and Orange County regions Lewis C. Horne; and Majestic Realty Co. President and Chairman of the Board Edward P. Roski Jr.
