IKEA announces 7,500 redundancies as part of pivot towards town centre stores and online shopping

Ikea plans to make around 7,500 people redundant including 350 in the UK while creating around 11,500 new jobs over the next two years in response it says to evolving shopping patterns that will see it opening new town-centre stores and focusing more on online sales, while pivoting away from its traditional out of town retail parks.
