Grosvenor has appointed former Knight Frank chairman Alistair Elliott as chair of its United Kingdom property business.
Elliott is set to take over on the first of the year from Melanie Gee, who has been in the role since April 2021.
He joined Grosvenor as a non-executive director in 2022, after 38 years at Knight Frank where he was senior partner and chairman of the property consultant's executive board, overseeing the group’s global strategy across a network of over 16,000 people in more than 380 offices across more than 50 territories.
Elliott is chair of LondonMetric, a member of the Council of the Duchy of Lancaster, while chairing its urban and strategic development committee and a member of the Duchy of Cornwall Prince’s Council and chair of its commercial property and development committee. He has been a LandAid trustee and was a member of the British Property Foundation policy committee.
Mark Preston, Grosvenor's executive trustee and chief executive, said: ‘I am confident he will continue to drive the outstanding standards of oversight and support we’ve benefited from under Melanie’s tenure."
During Gee's tenure as chair, Grosvenor Property UK has further developed its London estate, which includes South Molton, the West End’s largest mixed-use low-carbon development; an investment strategy focused on highly sustainable offices in England’s leading cities and a residential debt business supporting housing completions across the country.
