Latin America, 6 April 2020. SAHIC, the Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference for Latin American and The Caribbean, has rolled out SAHIC e-Meetings, a virtual and free-to-attend platform to facilitate encounter and close exchange between industry colleagues and those interested in related topics.
With the objective to promote regional collaboration and offer a Latin American & Caribbean perspective of the COVID-19 worldwide crisis, SAHIC e-Meetings brings together industry referents, opinion leaders and inspiring speakers to share valuable data and insights to help build the future of our business.

The virtual episodes (webinars) are transmitted live on a weekly basis and shared online post event. Registration is virtual and free of charge and participants are able to ask questions in real-time.
Last Tuesday, Episode 1 was the first of a series of interviews and conversations and that will line up a list of notable speakers and top executives from the hospitality industry. Patricia Boo, Area Director of STR, Cristián Roberts, President of PRIME and Joe Koechlin, Founder & Chairman of Inkaterra and Vice President of Peru Tourism Chamber joined Arturo Garcia Rosa on a discussion focused on “Building collaboration in unclear times”. The conversation tackled issues relating to the current situation of the industry, covering the weekly evolution of these last months around the world, the necessary collaboration between actors, how to navigate the crisis and the opportunities that this context generates.
Also last week, Episode 2 convened Carlitos Paez, survivor of the 1972 Andes plane Crash, to a one to one conversation with Arturo Garcia Rosa. An inspiring story in first person about personal prevalence and the lessons learned facing challenging times.
This Wednesday 8, Episode 3 will bring together a panel of experts from Mexico & Central America to share their input and experience coping with previous critical scenarios to help us navigate the current difficulties. Can we mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the hotel industry? How can we do it? Rico Louw, Senior Account Manager and Client Liaison of STR, Mónica Artigas, Promotion Director of Hoteles City Express, Carl Emberson, Director of Marketing & Operations of Punta Mita and Raúl F. Calvet, Executive Director of Calvet & Asociados will join this debate moderated by Arturo Garcia Rosa.
Topics on the agenda of SAHIC e-Meetings will cover: the economic impact of COVID-19 in our industry and how to live through it, the importance of inspiration and leadership in our organizations, the possible post scenarios and how to detect opportunity on a unfavorable reality, between other day to day challenges.
