Much ink has been spilled about the recent surge in inflation. In August, the consumer price index — the broadest measure of inflation in Canada — accelerated to 4.1% year on year from 3.7% in July. This is the highest rate of headline consumer price growth since 2003. Are there any implications for real estate as an asset class given this rekindling of inflation in the economy?
