Unemployment rate rises in San Diego

Civilian labor force grows

San Diego’s unemployment rate ticked up to 4.5% in January, according to the latest jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That was 20 basis points above last year’s estimate and 100 basis points below California’s statewide rate. Data in the most recent jobs report differs from previous releases due to the Labor Department’s annual revision process.
