Total retail sales in Houston this year could fall to lowest tally since 2012

High borrowing costs and rising cap rates among smaller deals remain an issue

Texas' status as a non-disclosure state makes transaction volume in Houston difficult to pin down. The total number of retail transactions during the first three quarters of 2024 totaled 649. At that pace, total transactions for the year would be around 865, the lowest tally since 2012.
