Ares Management Corporation has promoted Julie Solomon to head its real estate business alongside current head Bill Benjamin, with the pair sharing global leadership duties.
Solomon joined Ares in 2013, with the company describing her as an "invaluable leader" of its real estate team and a key contributor to the growth of the business. She is promoted from global chief operating officer, where she led the growth and integration of the team's portfolio management function.
Solomon also serves on the advisory board of the New York Private Equity Network Real Estate Group, of which she is a founding member, and as a member of the Pension Real Estate Association and WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate.
Solomon also worked for international banking firm JPMorgan Chase for five years and received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

The Ares Real Estate team oversees circa $49 billion of assets under management and has more than 250 investment professionals across 16 local offices in core markets in the US and Europe.
