Downtown Nashville’s multifamily construction slowdown didn’t last long

The area now has the second-most multifamily units under construction in the U.S.

Starting in late 2022, the quarterly number of multifamily units under construction in Nashville, Tennessee’s Downtown market gradually declined, but development has ramped back up over the past few quarters. Though quarterly apartment completions declined through most of 2024, a robust start to 2025 has newly constructed units totaling 4,200 over the past year, placing it among the top submarkets in the nation for growth.
