United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) and public officials formally announced that the giant global logistics and shipping company will break ground on a $400 million regional package sorting and distribution facility on a 342-acre site on Fulton Industrial Boulevard, near Charlie Brown Airport, a general aviation facility in Fulton County. UPS, which has been headquartered in Atlanta for two decades and employs nearly 14,000 people in the state of Georgia, is modernizing and expanding its global network of logistics and other facilities as well as its transportation fleets. The company delivers packages in more than 220 countries and territories, and employs 266,000 people worldwide.
