Boutique luxury hotel chain Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, will soon open its third New York location near the doorstep of the iconic Rockefeller Center.
The 33-story, 529-room Kimpton Rockefeller Center, located at 32 W. 48th St. between Fifth and Sixth avenues, is being developed in partnership with New York’s Extell Development and is set to open in late 2025, Kimpton said in a statement.
Designed by New York-based SLCE Architects and interior design studio INC Architecture & Design, the hotel will feature two full-service restaurants and a rooftop bar among its amenities.
The upscale hotel’s planned opening comes as the average hotel daily rate in New York has climbed to a record high of about $308 as NYC & Co., the city’s tourism arm, expects visits to the city to return to about 97% of pre-pandemic levels this year, according to CoStar data.
Kimpton, with 75 locations globally, said it also has an additional 57 properties scheduled to open in the next three to five years in locations including Riviera Maya, Lisbon, Riyadh and Brisbane.
