Segro has changed the agency roster at its famous Slough Trading Estate, the UK and Europe's largest trading estate in single ownership, appointing Gerald Eve, Avison Young and JLL.
The estate, which is wholly owned and managed by the UK's largest real estate investment trust Segro, is home to companies including Mars, Telefonica O2, Ferrari, DHL, Lanes Group and UCB.
The estate was opened in 1920 and was one of the first business parks in the UK. Segro for much of its life was know as Slough Estates and was formed as the owner of the park.
It covers 486 acres and comprises 7,500,000 square feet of principally industrial across more than 600 buildings. Cushman & Wakefield was the previous agent.
A spokesperson for Segro said: "Reviewing and re-tendering the work undertaken by our suppliers, including agents, is part of normal business practice and something we undertake across our organisation on an ongoing basis.
"We are looking forward to working with the successful agents to help promote the wide range of properties on the Slough Trading Estate to a diverse occupier base and maintain the Estate’s position as one of the best places in the UK for companies to operate from."
In addition to its position in UK and European logistics, the estate has also become embedded in UK popular culture as both the home of David Brent's Wernham Hogg Paper Merchants in comedy series The Office and the inspiration behind English poet John Betjeman's "Slough", his famous poem criticising the over-development of rural England.
Segro offers two leases at the park, the Enterprise Lease for units in its Enterprise Quarter and offers flexible terms. The lease runs for three years, but occupiers have the option to move out at any time after 12 months, usually on three months' notice. The rent includes insurance, external repairs and the estate service charges.
The Standard Lease gives a choice of term between five and 25 years.
