A private equity firm has paid food giant General Mills Inc. $13 million for an office building connected by a walking trail and footbridge to the company's world headquarters in Golden Valley, Minnesota, a suburb just west of Minneapolis, in the latest deal by the Fortune 500 company to reduce its real estate footprint.
