Hotel Construction in Charlotte Drops 40% From Prior Year

The number of hotel rooms under construction in Charlotte has fallen more than 40% over the past year, from nearly 1,350 rooms to 780. Meanwhile, rooms in final planning have ballooned more than 50%, from about 1,900 a year ago to nearly 3,000. Another 3,200 rooms are in the planning stage.
