Climate consultancy the Carbon Trust is moving its global headquarters to Arbor at Bankside Yards, Native Land’s 1.4 million-square-foot riverside mixed-use development, and earning the building a CoStar Impact Award for London's top commercial scheme.

Native Land has exchanged contracts with the Carbon Trust for 13,800 square feet of offices on a 10-year lease at level five.

The Carbon Trust moved into the building in March 2023, joining law firm Lewis Silkin, which pre-leased the sixth and seventh floors in December 2021.

About the Project:  The Carbon Trust's decision to move to Bankside Yards is significant, as it is being the UK’s first fossil fuel-free major mixed-use development in operation. All its electrical power comesfrom fully renewable sources, and will feature a pioneering fifth-generation energy sharing network

What the Judges Said:  "Excellent sustainability credentials delivering a people centric scheme", said James Finnis of JLL, while Guy Bowring of USP added: "Major London scheme, adding significantly to quality of office stock, but also public realm, amenity etc. Ground breaking architecture and strong sustainability, being UK's first fossil-fuel free development. Strong placemaking."
