Travelodge CVA considered

Goldman Sachs, Avenue Capital, and GoldenTree Asset Management are understood to have appointed KPMG to advise on how the Travelodge hotels business can be restructured to manage its £500m of debt, with a CVA among the options being considered.

New York-based hedge funds Avenue Capital and GoldenTree Asset Management, alongside Goldman Sachs, are in the process of taking control of Travelodge from Dubai International Capital (DIC), which bought the business from private equity firm Permira for £675m in 2006. That deal involved £475m of debt financing.
