Royal Bank Plaza, a 1.5 million-square-foot office complex in Downtown Toronto's financial district, is under contract for more than 1.2 billion Canadian dollars in what will probably be one of Canada's largest property deals this year. The sale also involves lesser-known details, from the building's unusual use of gold to its ties to properties in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles.
