Simon Murphy will be stepping down as chief executive of Battersea Power Station in March 2024 after 11 years on the 42-acre regeneration project.
Appointed as chief financial officer in 2012 by Battersea Power Station Development Company when it acquired the development, Murphy was promoted to deputy chief executive in 2014 and CEO in April 2018. No details of succession plans were given in this morning's announcement.

Murphy has been at the helm during the redevelopment of the former industrial brownfield site and the restoration of the derelict Grade II* listed Power Station. It has been redeveloped as a new town centre, which is now home to more than 140 shops, bars and restaurants, over 2,500 residents, office space including Apple’s new 500,000-square-foot London campus, and leisure venues, serviced by an extension to the London Underground Northern Line.
Following public opening of the Power Station and Electric Boulevard, the new pedestrianised high street which forms part of the development, in October 2022, Murphy has worked on the evolution of the business from a pure developer to acting as the asset manager responsible for the estate which now comprises 1.5 million square feet of commercial and 2,000 homes.
Tan Sri Jagan Sabapathy, chairman of Battersea Power Station Project Holding Company, said in a statement: "On behalf of Battersea Power Station's shareholders, I would like to thank Simon for his leadership and unstinting commitment, which have been instrumental in delivering the ambitious vision for the site and in creating an exciting, new and inclusive riverside neighbourhood for London."
Murphy said it was the right time to move. "While there have been many challenges along the way these have been more than eclipsed by the many remarkable highlights such as bringing the iconic Grade II*listed building back to life after a throrough restoration and collaborating with Transport for London to deliver the first extension to the London Underground in 25 years."
More retail, leisure, food and beverage brands will open throughout 2024 including Mexican restaurant, El Pastor, So.Shell Nail & Brow Bar, the latest luxury health club from Third Space, LIPS Pharmacy and LIPS Healthcare Clinic and Diagnostic Centre.
The year will also see the launch of 50 Electric Boulevard, a 200,000-square-foot office building designed by Foster + Partners, and the residential community will grow further with the completion of the 204 apartments at Koa at Electric Boulevard.
