The Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership opened the Luminaria Senior Apartments last year, providing 92 units for residents over 55 with low to moderate income.
The four-story building at 10600 Central Ave. in Albuquerque, New Mexico, also provides residents with social services and includes a fitness center. The Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership's transformation of the former lot that plagued the area for years into a senior living facility earned it a 2023 CoStar Impact Award, as judged by real estate professionals familiar with the market.
About the project: Construction started in February 2021 and was completed in March 2022.
What the judges said: "The area was in need of development, and this is an excellent use in an appropriate location," said Michael Reneau with Western States Commercial Real Estate.
They made it happen: Felipe Rael, executive director with the Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership.
