Cushman & Wakefield appointed Aubrey Waddell, who joined the brokerage in 2021 after nearly a dozen years at rival JLL, to serve as CEO of Cushman's global occupier services, division. Waddell previously served as global head of commercial operations for global occupier services, or GOS. She will succeed GOS CEO Bill Knightly, who has held the position since mid-2020 and "made significant contributions to the firm," starting with his work on the merger of DTZ, Cassidy Turley and Cushman & Wakefield that created a global brokerage known as Cushman & Wakefield. In her new role, Waddell will oversee the GOS division that works with some of the world’s largest occupiers on workplace strategy, facility and project management and transaction management. “Our GOS business has been a top priority for many years now, as it is integral to our overall firm and client strategy" and Waddell will play a key role in its expansion, Cushman & Wakefield Global President and Chief Operating Officer Andrew McDonald said in a statement. Before she joined the Chicago-based brokerage, Aubrey oversaw commercial strategy for JLL’s largest enterprise occupier clients. An attorney by trade, she also served as general counsel for the Americas of a major JLL business.

CBRE has promoted Kevin Dudley, who joined the firm 2010, to vice chairman, the highest rank a transaction professional can attain at the brokerage. Dudley earned the title, CBRE said, because of his achievements and success doing deals as both a landlord representative and tenant rep. On the landlord side, Dudley has arranged millions of square feet of deals on for owners including Ares, Bridge Development, Brookfield Properties, Dermody, Faropoint, Link, PGIM-Greek Development and Prologis, CBRE said. As a tenant rep, he has arranged millions of square feet of leases for clients such as AAA, Armani, Coach, Michael Kors, Under Armour, United Airlines and Victoria’s Secret, according to CBRE. Dudley serves as co-chair of the CBRE Tri-State Black Excellence Group and is a member of the CBRE global supply chain practice and CBRE ports and integrated logistics group. In 2021, he was named to the Colbert Coldwell Circle for CBRE's top 3% producers national for topping more than $2.3 billion in transactions.

Transwestern Real Estate Services, or TRS, has tapped Spencer Stouffer, who's worked for several large real estate firms, to lead its Northern Virginia agency leasing practice. In his role as executive vice president for the group's mid-Atlantic region, Stouffer will partner with Executive Vice President Tony Womack and Senior Vice President Bernard McKeever Jr. to provide clients with advice to drive leasing results. Stouffer joined Transwestern from MRP Realty, where he served as a senior managing director overseeing leasing and tenant services. He has worked in executive positions at Cushman & Wakefield and Trammell Crow Co., During the past 30 years, Stouffer has completed more than 14 million square feet of leasing transactions. Phil McCarthy, executive managing director of TRS' mid-Atlantic region, said Stouffer's knowledge and experience will help the firm when it comes to recruiting top talent.

Caddell Construction, a Montgomery, Alabama, contractor that's worked in high-profile projects including the Walmart Import Distribution Center in Ridgeville, South Carolina, and additions to the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, has promoted Mac Caddell to succeed Eddie Stewart as CEO. Stewart, who had led the company since 2012, retired at year-end 2023. Mac Caddell joined the company as a teenager, when he cut grass and worked in its warehouse during summer breaks from school. His late grandfather John Caddell had founded the company. Mac Caddell has held several positions of increasing responsibility at the company both in the field and at its headquarters.

St. John Properties, a Baltimore-based development and management firm that opened its first North Carolina office in 2022 in Raleigh, has picked Alaina Kiewit to serve as regional partner to lead its entry into Charlotte. St. John said Kiewit, who joined St. John Properties in 2020, will lead day-to-day operations of the new office and oversee the company's pursuit of opportunities for its speculative development strategy and be responsible for site and property acquisition, development, construction, marketing and leasing and property management activities. “St. John Properties continues to explore development opportunities in business-friendly, high-growth regions, and Charlotte represents the next step in our coordinated approach to expand across the country," St. John President and CEO Lawrence Maykrantz said in a statement. Charlotte is North Carolina's largest city based on population, and in 2022, it ranked as the fifth fastest-growing city in the country based on it adding 15,217 new residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. St. John said it is seeking sites across the greater Charlotte region, including areas in South Carolina, to develop class A office, retail and flex-research-and-development space.

Portman, a company that's developed more than 20,000 hotel room across the globe including the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Hyatt Regency San Francisco, Marriott Marquis Times Square and Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Singapore, has recruited Kaunteya Chitnis to lead the company’s hotel group as managing director of hospitality. Chitnis spent the past decade at MCR, one of the largest hotel owner-operators in the U.S., where he served as a senior vice president and workethd on the execution of over $3 billion worth of hotel transactions and development. At MCR, he led the development of several high-profile hotel projects including the 512-room TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Portman Chairman and CEO Ambrish Baisiwala said in a statement that the firm is "optimistic about the future of the hotel industry,” and that Chitnis's experience in the industry will help it execute its existing hospitality strategy and pursue new opportunities.

CBRE has hired a pair of retail investment sales brokers in Tampa, Florida, from Marcus & Millichap. James Garner and Jim Shiebler joined CBRE's Tampa office as senior vice presidents in its capital markets group. In their new roles, Garner and Shiebler will work with private capital clients and individual property owners in the sales of investments in multitenant shopping centers and single-tenant, net-leased properties along Florida’s west coast, CBRE said. Combined, the pair have more than two decades of commercial real estate experience and have executed a total of over $1 billion in transactions in retail properties. Earlier in his career, Garner worked on several high-profile commercial projects for Ingersoll Rand in New York City. During the past decade, he developed his niche in the retail sector working with private individuals, developers and investment funds across the country. Shiebler got into commercial property investment sales after holding executive positions where he operated hotels, resorts and casinos and restaurants.
