Part of the next generation of real estate brokers had an early morning audition with Transwestern Real Estate Services at its annual internship gathering in Atlanta.
The Houston-based company recently hosted 75 college students from across the country who were part of a pool of some 500 who applied to attend the 2025 breakfast. Attending the breakfast is a prerequisite for candidates who want to land a spot in Transwestern's summer internship program for prospective brokers.
The event also "gives intern candidates the opportunity to network with each other, connect with our teams, and gain insights from every service line," said Kristine Maggio, the company's regional operating officer for the Eastern United States, in a LinkedIn post.
Transwestern started requiring internship candidates to attend the gathering seven years ago, when the firm revamped its Atlanta internship program with new guidelines and a set curriculum, said Maggio.
Summer interns will work at the firm's offices in Atlanta, Austin-San Antonio, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis and Washington D.C.
Interns learn aspects of the industry including agency leasing, development, investment services, property and facility management and tenant advisory services, Transwestern said. Applicants must be working toward four-year degrees in real estate, business management or a related field and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Transwestern Real Estate Services operates out of 33 offices around the country.
